The A38 is a ridiculously long road that goes from Bodmin (Cornwall) to Mansfield (Nottinghamshire). It is so long that you would not believe how long it is. I mean, you could travel along it from Bristol to Birmingham and you wouldn't even have travelled along half of it.

[edit] Why on Earth is it so long?

The reason why the A38 is so ridiculously long is because a stupid and idiotic person from the Highways Agency (probably called Mr B.S.Johnson) thought that it would be funny to fool the British public into thinking that Bodmin and Mansfield are a few miles apart. Well, let me tell you something, Mr Johnson! No-one thought for one second that Bodmin and Mansfield are a few miles apart! Ha ha ha!
