For those without comedic tastes, the so-called experts at Wikipedia have an article very remotely related to Acetyl...oh dammit, I forgot.

The finding of this substance is quite disputed. Many people claim that the word was found by James Joyce (who created the famous Bababadalgharaghtakamminarronnkonnbronntonnerronntuonnthunntrovarrhounawnskawntoohoohoordenenthurnuk) but numerous celebrities such as Paris Hilton, James Blunt. Due to its disputed and dangerous nature, it is often featured in speeling bees, to suss out little kitties who forgot its spelling. This is not common though, because all of the participants generally use a pocket computer to cheat.

There have certainly been many notable usages of this word.

Paris Hilton's reimagination of Acetylseryl-something, which led to her prison stay for disturbing the public.

Paris Hilton claims that the word represents an elaborate kind of fashion sense, specifically wearing a hat made of dog poo with many expensive jewels. She then made an online petition to encourage the use of the word. Unfortunately, no one spelt it correctly.

James Joyce, however, claimed that, in his book Finnegan's Wake, it could be summarized as a "skysign of soft advertisement floating on a sindark nave". This statement can be summarized as "a useless word put just to break a Guinness World Record and Become Dirty Rich in 30 Days".

In his song I am The Walrus, John Lennon also put a backwards message just before saying "koo koo k'joo", speaking out the whole word without stuttering then flipping it backwards. A few years later, Thom Yorke, who sang it backwards in his song, Like Spinning Plates, then flipping it forwards.

This lead to a short controversy, where every singer tried to speak the word out in all their songs. Philip Glass, in particular, made a song containing him saying it twenty times, and quickened in 200%. He was later admitted to hospital and had his tongue amputuated. Fiona Apple decided to make that her album title, but then decided to make her title When the Pawn Hits the Conflicts He Thinks like a King What He Knows Throws the Blows When He Goes to the Fight And He'll Win the Whole Thing 'Fore He Enters the Ring There's No Body to Batter When Your Mind Is Your Might So When You Go Solo, You Hold Your Own Hand And Remember That Depth Is the Greatest of Heights And If You Know Where You Stand, Then You Know Where to Land And If You Fall It Won't Matter, Cuz You'll Know That You're Right to get something more creative than other artists. In this short controversy, sixty-nine people died trying to say the word properly.
