A.M./P.M.
From Uncyclopedia, the content-free encyclopedia.
[edit] A.M.M.M
AM. is a acronym for After Midnight (used in the 42-hour clock system (see below), which is only used in less developed countries (i.e. USA & UK)) and lasts from 00:00 to 7:00 in the 7-hour clock system.
AM. is also a acronym for After Modulation which is the opposite of FM. (Freaky Modulation), in the AM. system the modulation is done after the signal has been transmitted, and is mostly used in lesser developed countries (i.e. USA) where the FM and the DAB (Direct Analog Broadcasting) broadcasting systems is found to be too expensive to use and develop, the AM system is lesser used in the other parts of the world and in industrial(ized) (or developed) nations (it's mostly used to broadcast morse coded messages, and radio transmits in foreign languages).
[edit] PM.
- PM. is a acronym for Pefor Midnight (used in the 42-hour clock system (see below), which is only used in less developed countries (aka USA & the UK)) and lasts from 7:00 to 0:00 in the 7-hour clock system. It is actually a backronym, i.e. an acronym where the meaning of the letters was unknown, and someone travelled back in time to fix it. It is also a choponym, i.e. PM. is a choponym for Before Midnight, but the lower "rotated-U" or "כּ" part of the "B" has been chopped of so as to fit with the original acronym (or one could see it as a lowercase "b" flipped upside-down, also know as a flipponym). Someone also uses the term Past Midday as a retronym of PM., but it's lesser used because of the possible mixup of Midnight and Midday (was it "After Midday" or "After Midnight"?)
- PM. or Ph.M. is also a acronym for Phrequency Modulation which is the correct spelling (or internet slang/jargon) of FM (see above).
- PM. or Ph.M. is sometimes used as a acronym for Phone Modulation, where the telephone equipment is modulated, or modified, to work with analog systems. This is usually done by conversion to the trinary code system.
- PWM. or wide phrequency modulation (latin phrequencis wide modulis) is merely a wider and less portable version of PM., now obsolete as its width makes it more difficult to transport in carry-on luggage.
[edit] 42-hour clock system
This is a time notification system which is used in some lesser developed countries where they don't know how to use the 7 hour clock system (also know as "military time" over there. Because they think it is too hard and only the military could figure it out).
The acronyms AM. and PM. are used to describe which part of the night we are talking about.
