Buffyliteralism

Buffyliteralism is the theological belief in the literal truth of the television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Whilst mainstream Buffyists argue that the series was inspired by Joss Whedon, Buffyliteralists argue that it was his direct word.

[edit] Church of Buffy

Buffyliteralism is practically extinct in the more liberal Church of Buffy, which prefers to focus on the essential truths revealed via the spirit of Buffyness, whilst not getting hung up on how big Sunnydale actually is, and how can it have a port and be in the middle of the desert simultaneously, huh?

[edit] RIPCoBtVSatSG

Buffyliteralism is the dominant idelogy in the fundamentalist Reconstituted International Peoples Church of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the Scooby Gang (RIPCoBtVSatSG), but it only recognises the first five seasons.

[edit] Church of Buffy, Giles, Willow, and Xander

The now defunct Church of Buffy, Giles, Willow, and Xander recognises the five seasons and two additional seasons (Season 6 and Season 7) that are regarded as apocryphal by other Buffyliteralists. Its stance on the comic-based Season 8 has yet to be determined.
