Carry On Up the Rectum is a British 1980 comedy film made as part of the long-running series of Carry On Films. This is another Carry On film to spoof Hospital dramas like ER, but spends more time showing the Nurses undressing in the private wards. It is well-known in the United States of America for being the movie debut of movie starlet Minerva Mink long before her rise to fame in the Slappy's Angels series.

[edit] Plot
Frankie Howerd the Duck plays Mr. Bigot, a stuck-up little tit who cons people by pretending to be a miracle-man. Due to his assistant urinating over the stage, he collapses and is admitted to the Finisham Hospital.
At the Hospital, Sid James is patient Big Dick, who gives "favours" to the buxom nurses in return for not taking his medicine. Mr. Bigot arrives and is placed in a nearby bed, where he complains to Matron Ironfist (played by Hattie Jacques) about having his copy of Playboy Magazine being confiscated.
As this happens, Nurse Fanny (Minerva Mink) is sent to find Dr. Killham (Kenneth Williams), to examine Bigot. Killham is a snooty old fart who is constantly trying to avoid the lustful Matron who fancies her for no apparent reason other than the fact that it kills time in the film.
After finally being driven to the point of frustration with Bigot's complaints, Killham places him in a private ward / gas chamber and puts the rest of the patients through hell by making them watch re-runs of Space Jam, causing great agony and resentment among the group.
Eventually, Dick leads an uprising by the patients against Killham, who is being raped by Matron upstairs after she spiked his coffee. Bigot joins them, but has duck-tape over his mouth to shut him up. Matron is tied to a chair and forced to watch Space Jam by the group before they move onto Killham, who they forcibly move to an operating theatre and surgically remove his testicles.
With everything back to normal, Bigot is free to leave. On his way out, he slips on a patch of ice and has his nose impaled on an iron gate, and is forced back into the hospital.
[edit] Reception
The film performed moderately well, that is to say, the moderating moderators felt moderately whilst moderating that the film performed moderately in moderator's terms. Several critics felt is was an OK film, but not as good as some of the previous Carry On Films.
[edit] Quotes
