Highway Night Elk, Canada

The elk is a magnificent creature. There is no such thing as a "typical Elk." Elks come from all walks of life. Elks are nocturnal. They are usually seen after 10:00 drinking beer. Elks range in height from 4'8" at the shoulder to over 6'0" tall at the shoulder. Elks are omnivores. Elks are charitable and patriotic. Most researchers are unsure how to classify the elk, as it is both gregarious and rogue at different times. During the week, the Elk usually goes to work and comes home to be bored with his family, but on the weekend, Elks come together in a large herd, called a Lodge, and socialize.
