[edit] Origins
"Flogging" was created by a man named David King and his ragtag group of six rodeo clown friends when they had stumbled upon a silver Mandolin. They had originally agreed to fight eachother to the death for the instrument, however when they realised all they had to arm themselves were several throw pillows and a plastic spork, they decided against it. They would instead hold a competition to see who would win the instrument. Thus the sport of Flogging Molly was born.
[edit] Events
[edit] First
The first event can be considered the mother of most modern drinking games. Across the playing area some one hundred quarts of ale are dispersed in opaque containers. Several large coins are dropped into the containers at random, usually one for each player. The contenders must find one of the coins at the bottoms of the containers. However, they must drink the entirety of the liquid contents of the glass as it is the only way to retrieve the coin.
[edit] Second
The second event is a simple foot race. This event is heavily dependent upon the first, as those who were lucky enough to find the coins early have a huge advantage here. Assuming that at least one of the competitors isn't reeling drunk, this event is generally the quicker of the two. Originally the goal for this event was the silver Mandolin, however in modern times it us usually made a bathroom to avoid accidents caused by the first event.
[edit] Third
The winner of the sport wins a free beer which he is charged for when he is pissed off of it
