In 2009, after Kansas decides to completely ban the word "Science" from ever being spoken, let alone taught in Theology class, neighboring states Oklahoma and Arkansas meet in French Lick, Indiana at the summoning of basketball legend and French Lick native Larry Bird. Bird then masterminds a plan for the two states to annex Kansas so the rest of the world no longer has listen to Kansas redefine science or watch the Jayhawks choke in March Madness. As it turns out, Bird can not only out think his opponents on the hard court; but, he is a military genius as well and the annexation of Kansas is flawless. Upon finally taking control of the state, the capitol is moved to Liberal, Kansas.
