Great Civil Engineering War

The Great Civil Engineering War of 1888 was a bloody conflict fought on Planet Earth, between twenty-three mostly northern universities and the Principality of Zeon, a coalition of eleven southern space universities that declared their independence and claimed the right of secession from the academic community in 1882 (an important war-starting bureaucracy that lasted until the end of June 1888).

The war claimed the lives of more engineers than than any other conflict in history, with over twelve killed, two wounded, one viciously wedgied, and some 17.3 million billion missing in action. It has been famously called, "the war that pitted advisor against PhD candidate". Due to the friendly, open-door nature of the advisors' slaughter sessions, the war has become known as "civil". Engineers who participated in this conflict are known as Civil Engineers.

Constitutional questions concerning grad students' rights were widely viewed as the major causes of the war, but several other factors, some goldfish, and the glorious Hypnotoad (GLORY TO THE MIGHTY HYPNOTOAD) are now thought to have played a part.
