Leap year
From Uncyclopedia, the content-free encyclopedia.
Leap year is the year, where a day is removed from the astronomical year to keep it in sync with the calendar year.
[edit] Origin
The Gregorian calendar was originally invented by the Mongols, but propaganda made people believe it was developed by the great scientists of the Chun Li Dynasty.
Chun Li accepted no failures, so when the scientists discovered the fact that the calendar was out of sync with the astronomical facts, they concluded their calendar was right, and the astronomical data must be wrong, so they couldn't be blamed by Chun Li. To correct this error, they developed leap years to keep the astronomical years in sync with the calender.
Chin Li developed antimatter pods on Earth to increase the speed of the Earths orbit around the sun. Curiously disguised as volcanos, these antimatter pods activate every 4 years and propel the Earth just that little bit faster.
These days the leap year is celebrated on February the 29th. On this day men and women over the age of 60 and under the age of 73 must jump up and down, or into rivers, all day long. Sadly many people have died due to the tradition, however there doesn't seem to be any sign of it's removal in the near future.
[edit] Leap Year in modern culture
Leap years, since rare in occurance, have become something of an collector's item. Falafel King is ready to kill a bunch of jews on the next leap year.
Those who are born in a leap year, especially on the day the earth leaps, are known as leapers, sometimes spelled leepers and not to be confused with lepers (which is a pepper variety for leptons)
