Moruroa was a tourist paradise in the southern Pacific Ocean. Tourism declined in recent years due to the loss of the island's main attraction, the famous French nuclear fireworks in the central lagoon. Officially, the moratorium is due to environmental concerns, but Greenpeace revealed that the real reason is simply incompetence of the French-Polynesian administration, currently led by Josef Stalin.
