Motionless picture
From Uncyclopedia, the content-free encyclopedia.
The Motionless Picture was a concept developed a few years ago by accountants at Warner Sisters, who realised that the hallucinogenic properties of movie theatre popcorn meant that they could show a single image, play some odd sounds and let the moviegoers fill in the gaps themselves. This is significantly cheaper than making movies, and provides a better guarantee of box office takings than showing a movie that is probably complete crap to undrugged viewers.
The concept has been expanded on to great effect by George Lucas for the latest Star Wars movies, and increased home use of microwave popcorn has been postulated as a possible explanation for continued reports of the existence of the fictitious TV series Firefly.
The pinnacle of the artform is the truly remarkable Serenity. One may note that the recently movie Doom used this concept in a less successful manner. It has been concluded that this is because the entire movie consisted of a black screen and a disappointing lack of incest.
