The New Democratic Party or NDP) is a left wing political party in Canada. It was formed in 1966 by Tommy Lee Douglas. The current leader of the party is Jack Layton, the Prime Minister of Canada. In the 2006 Canadian General Election, the New Democrats won 255 seats and used the Judge Judy Verdict (2006) to create iSeats, which they promptly won. They are one of the four main political parties in Canada, the other parties are the Liberal Party, the Hey, What the Hell is That!?! Party and their Arch Nemesis, the fringe Conservative Party.

The NDP is a social democratic party which subscribes to the following political beliefs:
- Stopping the Conservatives at all costs
- Legalization of Cannabis specifically marijuana and as well as all other drugs
- Abortion rights
- Same Sex rights
- Multi-culturalism
- Other things that makes the Christian Right very, very, very pissed
- Establishing a Ministry of Peace
- Ban peanuts nationwide, and feature annoying-as-heck PSAs on television with vending machines crashing into walls when being near peanuts
- National day care system so that women can work...you know, the whole treating women like people thing...that thing the Tories hate?
- Rehabilitating criminals as to not hurt their feelings and smacking people who call for their death
- Use of pay-per-use health care will be deemed illegal and be punishable with death
- Not letting them tell you it can't be done
- using acronyms for every word
