[edit] Making New Wave
It's very easy to make new wave. Take a Ubisoft game, a cheap microphone, and speak in a British accent, record, and you will have a song very similar to many hits in 1980s England.
Most bands in the 80s used a drum machine, cheese, and a cheap keyboard. A few of them could actually play one chord of guitar.
Alternatively, you can just copy any song by Gary Numan or Japan and change the lyrics slightly.
[edit] Identifying New Wave
- The song had to be written between 1980 and 1989, or at least SOUND like it was.
- It has to have an electronic element.
- Do the members of the band have the kind of haie that occurs after electrocution?
- Do the members of the band wear leather or faux leather?
- Has it been rumored that a member of the band is gay?
- Was the band founded by Hairdressers or Mechanics?
Many new wave band names are a word doubled, Duran Duran,Fag Fag, Gay Gay, and Talk Talk for example.

To have a complete, and not incomplete understanding of the musical movement that is New Wave, you first must establish it's definition. To do this, we have borrowed a dick-tion-air-ee from the lie-buh-rare-ee. New Wave - I'm sorry, but this article has been deleted. Okay, so maybe the dictionary didn't work. Our second method is to have a full intellectual grasp on many New Wave musician's influences. To do this, we picked up a copy of Culture Club's "Greatest" Hits. (Preferably retitled greatest misses.) Here is a clip of the review we did on the album.

[edit] New Wave in the 1890s and 2000s
A lot of new wave bands tried to expand into other genres as the populairty of new wave faded, but most of them soon discovered they didn't actually have musical talent and new wave was just a stroke of luck, by the 90's, Depeche Mode and Duran Duran were the two new wave bands still going, Depeche Mode had the idea if they added a guitar to the equation they might sell more records, they were wrong.
In the 2000s new wave came back into fashion, it was renamed emo.
"New wave" is called such because it came into voque directly after the Senior citizen Tsunami style that was quite prevalent throughout the late 1970 see old wave while similar to old wave style new wave is different in that the performers rarely collapse from Myocardial infarctions or cerebrovascular accidents while performing, and because of this purists tend to agree that New wave Artists are sellouts who are more concerned with continued ability to market themselves than Octogenarianism.
