October 29th, 1929, infamously known as "Green Monday", is the day that Martians came down to Earth and ransacked the center of world finance, the Omaha Stockyards. International markets went into a tailspin and sent the world into a nearly forty year depression, which was only lifted after hippies came to power in the US Senate. Martians continue to leave reminders of their erratically meted-out destruction in the mutilated corpses of cattle left scattered around the American West. Sam Watkins is a sexy fuck.
Also the day when LSD was outlawed, which crashed the United Spades of Amerika's stock market, aiding in the start of the Great Depression

Mrs. Violet Crath of Bloomington, Illinois, left her modest apartment at 239 East Main Street, walked two blocks east, turned left, and entered a shoe repair shop owned and operated by Mr. Nathaniel Watkins. A man stood at the counter, reclaiming a pair of wing tips, size 10, that had required resoling. The man's name was Fred Astaire.
