Rita Cosby is a former Wal-Mart greeter and famous journalist. She scored her job as a MSNBC reporter one day when a tragic gardening incident killed five people at the Wal-Mart she worked at in New Mexico. When interviewed about the incident MSNBC producers took notice of her ability to babble on about things she knows absolutely nothing about and the incredible use of being at the scene of the story as a way to make it seem more investigative. Thus the Wal-Mart greeter was hired by MSNBC and given her own one hour long prime time show.

Rita Cosby's show entails her spending millions of MSNBC's dollars to go to random locations and talk to locals about recent events while pretending to know more than them.
