Format and other improvements[edit]

Now that that GameFAQ stuff is out, it is time to take this article to the next level.

Currently, the article gives a randomly generated excerpt from Wikipedia about some mental illness. What this article should really do is randomly generate fictional mental illnesses. I propose an article which generates a fake name, fake symptoms, fake causes, and fake treatments.

I totally agree. I was just happy to see the GameFAQs stuff gone, I didn't care what was here. However, I think we should stick as closely to the current text as possible. It is well written, and sounds good. I just think that some of the symptoms and treatments are a little off. For instance, Catatonic definitely involves a paralytic state caused by consuming too many cats. All it will take is editing a few words from each article, and strategically linking them. I guess I'm all for going as subtle as possible here. -- 02:33, 3 Oct 2005 (UTC)
  • I'm off to bed, but for anyone interested, bi-polar should probably be written that way, Category:Diseases will help, and I know we need to sneak an article about SIDS in there somewhere. -- 02:40, 3 Oct 2005 (UTC)

Something like this, KP? (Check the code)

Attention Respiratory Disorder is a very severe psychiatric and medical condition.

With <choose> you can add as many sections as you want. Symptoms, treatments, hallucinations... --—rc (t) 02:53, 3 Oct 2005 (UTC)

Nice coding! There are a lot of good possibilities here. --KP CUN 04:33, 3 Oct 2005 (UTC)

It has disorder names, descriptions and symptoms, and causes now. Could use some cures, discoverers, etc. or just more options in the categories already there. --—rc (t) 23:28, 5 Oct 2005 (UTC)

I'm of mixed feelings on this. It's lost a bunch of its humor due to the randomness of it. I think we need to kill some of the bits of joke text in it. However, it is random, and absoultely insane, so it works on that front. I may take a minute or two and make sure the text is all serious. -- 00:21, 6 Oct 2005 (UTC)
Yeah, I wouldn't object at all to it being more serious. I couldn't really think of enough real names or symptoms so I filled in the empty spots with nonsense. --—rc (t) 04:50, 6 Oct 2005 (UTC)
Pretty damn good now. While not really serious, the "yearning to be a dolphin" always makes me laugh. -- 01:00, 10 Oct 2005 (UTC)

Unlinked subpages[edit]

Here's a few subpages I've run across in case they need to be linked to the article somehow. MadMax 21:15, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
