That's pLace. Small "p", big "l".

~ Stewie Griffin on the capitalization of The Place... sorry, The pLace

The Place can refer to anywhere and everywhere. The place is any location where something has been splattered, asploded, spread about, or destroyed. When somebody makes a mess of a job, it is often said that they got something all over the place. When you miss your toothbrush with the tube of toothpaste and it goes on your shirt, your father will yell at you and say "Now look what you've done, you got the toothpaste all over the place you stupid son of a bitch!".

[edit] History

The first known reference to "The Place" was made by Spartacus when he ham-stringed a guard with his fucking teeth and got blood all over The Place. Another guard came over and kicked him in the face and told him he was out of line for a slave and would be put into the arena as a Gladiator. This inspired other slaves to rebel, and at one point they all wanted to be Spartacus and yelled "I'm Spartacus!" when a Roman was looking for the real Spartacus. This had the exact effect that the slaves wanted; the Romans nailed them all to crosses all over The Place. Among these men was Jesus who also claimed to be Spartacus, but nobody believed him because his physical build and facial hair were nothing close to that of the real Spartacus. Instead he went down in history for another reason that I can't seem to remember at the moment but it can probably be found in one of the many articles in this Encyclopedia about Jesus.
