Thespians
From Uncyclopedia, the content-free encyclopedia.
From the dawn of acting, there have been two groups of Actors, the Thespians and those with actual acting experience. From the beginning of Greek theatre, Thespians began as a small group, cast aside from the acting society into which they were later to give their heart and souls. Sophocles, from the beginning was completely opposed to the Thespian society, calling it "Like Lesbians, but with a th and a p."
In rebellion, the early Thespians foresaw two plays which he was to write. One, which was titled Oedipus Rex sent many of his viewers running away from the theatre (due to obvious disturbing plot points) holding their hands over their ears and screaming "La La La La I cannot hear you!" Sophocles, in hopes that the second part of the curse was not to come true he wrote Antigone which instead brought about the fall of the idea "Man can do what ever he feels like" Afterwards, Thespians became a more major part of modern day Theatre.
[edit] Thespians: Shakespearean Times
After a hard time in the Dark ages, where lighting in theaters suffered greatly, Thespians once again were left on the street corner of acting. With a little help from a unknown Thespian by the name of William Shakespeare, the Thespian populace came back in full swing. Many plays written by Shakespeare were based on his childhood Thespian friends. With Thespians gaining force in Theatre, a bright future was ahead for The ns.
[edit] Thespians: Modern Times
Thespian societies have sprung up recently as a part of a desire from High Schoolers for more extra-curricular activities to make fun of, the result was Thespian clubs springing up across the country in many High School Theatre departments. Many times these clubs, or "Societies" will organize bake sales to raise money, to buy more cookies and pastry items for a much larger bake sale, whereas thespians retort that enough poeople love to watch football players slap each other in the buttocks as they comment on how "gay that drama class is" that they do not need any more funds, ==See Also==
