"death? I spit in your hairy face!"

SHATTER PROOF Top Gear presenter Richard Hammond survived being blown up by a roadside bomb planted by co-presenter Jeremy Clarkson at the weekend "for a laugh" - less than a year after nearly losing his life circum-navigating the Sun. The 37-year-old was "blown limb from limb" by the blast yet managed to walk away giving his nemesis Clarkson a "cheery wave".

Despite losing all his limbs and suffering "catastrophic blood loss" the host was otherwise not injured and continued to drive the destroyed car towards Albania where he subsequently survived being eaten by a polar bear.

Its not the first time that Hammond has suffered at the hands of his arch enemy, Jeremy Clarkson. In 2001 hs had his head crushed to a pulp by a steam roller driven by his brash, curly haired colleague. Despite having his skull "crushed beyond repair" the perky midget was up and about within minutes of the "accident" and riding a 1000cc motorbike into a brick wall at 130mph.

"The man simply will not die!," said a frustrated Clarkson last night
