Athyriaceae is a family of terrestrial ferns with a cosmopolitan distribution. It has, in the past, included Cystopteris and Gymnocarpium, but those two genera are now recognized as representing a two-member clade that is a basal offshoot of the clade that includes this family, plus Woodsia, the Onocleaceae, Blechnaceae, Aspleniaceae, and Thelypteridaceae. Inversely, this family has by some been subsumed in the family Woodsiaceae, but doing that, by the rules of cladistics would mean also including the Onocleaceae and Blechnaceae within the Woodsiaceae.

Holy crap, is that a lot of comma splices... o___O And I even removed a few. Such horrendous sentence structure, though, I have to wonder that people can even read Wikipedia articles. That is the norm, after all.
Also, it should be noted that the Wikipedia plantiness box is more intelligent than the Uncyclopedia one... and much, much more annoying. And a fair amount less interesting. Stupid plantiness box.
