Hi

Nice to see you in these remote parts. Since Zombiebaron has asked me not to talk about the mirror site (at least not on the forums) on Uncyclopedia, and Lyrithya hates the mirror site, let's use our talk pages here to communicate. They seem to think that this mirror draws people away from the main site but I disagree. We do get more new users than the main site, but almost nobody sticks around to edit quality edits around here. If you need admin access here to do any scripting work that would help this site, let me know. Just don't ask me about how the scripting stuff works - I never learned javascript or anything newer than the mid 1990s in programming languages. In my opinion, this mirror might even be one backup option should the community decide to move away from wikia, only I doubt this old server could handle the traffic, it loads pages much more slowly than the main site. When Illogicopedia moved to one of carlb's servers away from wikia, they had trouble with the server going down for several days and pages loading slowly, and the membership there dropped dramatically. Wikia still kept the old illogicopedia site up however, and renamed it wackypedia. It's now a magnet site for spammers, I doubt anybody maintains that site except maybe wikia staff. So if Uncyclopedia does move away from wikia, the same could happen...the old site left as a ghost town among wikis. I should be going to bed, but my arm hurts, and resting it for two hours in the dark and taking painkillers didn't help, so I'm up again, who knows for how long, until the sleeping pill kicks in. I do script stuff occasionally, and it might help if I had a place to try out my sharing tab before I bug TKF or Zombiebaron to make the necessary edits; non-admin users can't fiddle in the MediaWiki: namespace. ~ButtButterson (speak) Nov 19, '12 3:25pm

And I doubt the site's userbase would ever move back here, mainly because of the slow-servers issue, but also because CarlB is um...how shall I put it... unpredictable, and also hard to contact. If Uncyc moves away from Wikia to a new server, there's obviously no way Wikia would close their version of the site, and if *this* one were to stay up, that would mean there were three separate incarnations of Uncyclopedia: one mirror, one abandoned version open to spammers and tards, and the real site. Since you do script things, and apparently that requires admin privileges to deal with the Mediawiki interface, I'm going to make you an admin on this site. Thanks for your work so far in reverting vandals. Another thing, please try to delete only spam and QVFD stuff, I'm keeping an inclusionist philosophy on this site in favor of rewriting rather than deleting, plus that way people from the main site can go back and see what a deleted article looked like (and what a good article should not look like). Hi, could an admin please completely delete this entry and its history? http://mirror.uncyc.org/wiki/Olivier_d%27haenens

A friend of mine made it a while back, I thought it was funny at first but apparently it shows up in google when I look up my name. I'll start looking for a job soon and employers always google your name. I obviously do not want them to come across this. So please delete this page entirely.
