Thanks[edit]

Thanks for your help while I was gone for a couple days. Is there any way you or Bizzeebeever or Pup could update the missing images list (now that I've imported some new articles but haven't got all their images)? There should be some way to do it automatically, but I know next to nothing about scripts. Simsilikesims (talk) 05:58, 21 December 2012 (UTC)

I have no idea how Pup made the list in the first place; if you can worm it out of him, I might be able to set something up. I suspect anything you want to do for imports can be done with pywikibot; if you have Windows, pywikibot isn't too hard to set up, you just need Cygwin (I might be able to walk you through the process if you like). As for Bizzeebeever, I think he might be taking a vacation for a while. ;) Blottobot (talk)
Unfortunately, I'm not too familiar with Linux environments, even virtual ones, so I don't have Cygwin. Hopefully Pup won't be too busy too long. Simsilikesims (talk) 06:57, 21 December 2012 (UTC)
Have you ever used a Windows command line? While Windows' command line is completely retarded in comparison to Linux, the concept isn't vastly different.Blottobot (talk)
If you mean DOS, yes, I used that to load files and list directories. DOS 6.0 to be exact. I still use the windows command line occasionally to boot old games on an old computer in the back room, for instance, and occasionally to run chkdsk /f. Simsilikesims (talk) 04:22, 22 December 2012 (UTC)
:D You should totally get cygwin.
I'll see what I can do about importing missing images, but I'm still not sure how Pup got his list in the first place. Was it from here? Blottobot (talk)
I think it was related to that somehow, but I don't think that category is up to date now. Simsilikesims (talk) 08:57, 24 December 2012 (UTC)
I don't think I remember how I generated that list to begin with, but I'm back on updating it now through a different method. Having issues as my method crashes whenever the server dies, and my error resolution efforts seems to be hitting a brick wall. (As in the work for around 100 issues, and then after the 100th issue it just spits out a "I don't know what to do" method.)
I'm also getting the following issue with your import script:

How come I didn't get an email notification of these messages... weird. Anyway, glad things worked out.Blottobot (talk) 15:26, 9 January 2013 (UTC)

please delete this entry[edit]

Hi, could an admin please completely delete this entry and its history? http://mirror.uncyc.org/wiki/Olivier_d%27haenens

A friend of mine made it a while back, I thought it was funny at first but apparently it shows up in google when I look up my name. I'll start looking for a job soon and employers always google your name. I obviously do not want them to come across this. So please delete this page entirely.

Thanks in advance
