James dewar[edit]

Pretty sure this is qvfd.

Also, would it be possible at some point for me to help you out in an admin capacity? I think I could do it ok and I want to help if/when I can but I don't know if you'd like that or not. Llwy-ar-lawr (talk) 01:07, 2 March 2014 (UTC)

Also, I can't upload stuff by url for some reason, and I wanted to because there's a pile of stuff with missing images in it. Llwy-ar-lawr (talk) 01:28, 2 March 2014 (UTC)
Ok, I deleted the James dewar article, since I agree with you. As to uploading stuff by url, I haven't figured that one out yet either. The only way I know to upload pictures is either to have Puppy or Bizzeebeever do it with a script, or manually go through, download the picture from the other site, then upload it to this site. Puppy's busy IRL, and Bizzeebeever doesn't have much interest in this mirror site anymore, so the script probably isn't a current option, though you could always ask him. Simsilikesims (talk) 05:39, 2 March 2014 (UTC)
I think you have to be an admin to upload stuff by url from what I see on Special:ListGroupRights. And you didn't answer my second question :) but I might be disqualified on the main site if I were an admin here so... I don't know really. Llwy-ar-lawr (talk) 02:14, 4 March 2014 (UTC)
Also Carlb's server seems to be going down a lot lately so I wonder if we should make a mirror of the mirror maybe?? Llwy-ar-lawr (talk) 02:16, 4 March 2014 (UTC)
And please delete User:OptimoDefender‎ and click here thanks. 99.240.218.250 16:36, 4 March 2014 (UTC) (not logged in somehow, server being really buggy or something)
A mirror of this mirror site seems unworkable due to the many pages hosted on this site and lack of interest in this site. I had in mind for this site to be an archive/inclusionist version of the main site, with users working to rewrite instead of delete pages (since oftentimes, as you can see from comparing this site to the main site, pages are deleted never to be rewritten again). It is also an answer to those who find the standards of the main sites too high, and perhaps have no talent but want to write anyways. It is also a last refuge for those who find themselves banned from both main sites who still want to write but are not able to fit in with the rules of the main sites regarding getting along with other users (since there is almost nobody here to argue with, and I don't give lectures on quality but tolerate junk that could be rewritten later, as long as there are at least two paragraphs that are not nonsense, and no cyberbullying is involved.

I do tolerate vanity here, with a VAIN template slapped on it, as several people seem to visit to contribute and add to the vanity pages. Mostly people from various schools, I think. I have not figured out how to upload stuff by url, usually I import pages from other wikis and the pictures just don't get imported when I do that since the files don't include them. I'll have to experiment with that another day.

As to making you an admin here, I probably could use some help, but I am concerned about your recent conflict with Boobnoob, who seems to be helpful to this site, if banned from the main sites. I'm keeping an eye on Boobnoob in case she turns out to be another copy of the Alicia Keys/Phyllis Hyman vandal, but so far she has helped revert vandal edits. Also, if your time is taken up here, you may be less able to keep up things at en.uncyclopedia.co, which should be a higher priority. Boobnoob hasn't shown up lately though, so I may decide to let you be admin here after awhile. Welcoming users to this site as if it were its own site isn't a big offense, though this is an archive site. We do have at least one unique page here that isn't on either of the main sites. (Just look under new pages created, and go back to about last Halloween.) I would've featured it here, but I don't have the feature code scripts in my userspace here, unlike my .js at uncyclopedia.wikia.com. Have to get going to work now, but thought I'd stop by before I left. Simsilikesims (talk) 23:50, 4 March 2014 (UTC)

I guess you decided to let me be an admin. Anyway, thanks, and it's ok if a little time is taken up here because I make a ridiculous amount of edits to en.uncyclopedia.co and besides I'm already an admin on a bunch of wikis, so no worries. Llwy-ar-lawr (talk) 16:34, 5 March 2014 (UTC)

User:Tiziteman[edit]

I think this might be spam but I'm not sure - what do you think? Llwy-ar-lawr (talk) 19:42, 5 March 2014 (UTC)

Btw I can apparently upload files by url so I'll be importing missing files awhile if that's ok. Llwy-ar-lawr (talk) 19:54, 5 March 2014 (UTC)

The user page looks more like someone thought the mere mention of a rectum would be funny. Since it is in userspace, I think we can leave it alone, but if it were in mainspace it would be QVFD material, which can be deleted. Feel free to import as many missing images as you can. Simsilikesims (talk) 23:50, 5 March 2014 (UTC)
Also I have found a lot of pages linking to a now-deleted vandal template created by Alicia Keys, and this makes it quite clear that Boobnoob is Alicia Keys because both accounts have replaced a good number of pages with that template. I'm going through and reverting the edits (which she seems to have mostly made in 2012 I admit), and I'm a little shocked at how much of the wiki she's defaced under not only the Alicia Keys account (and another sock I didn't know) but the Boobnoob one that I thought she was using to do mainly good edits. Thought you might like to know. Llwy-ar-lawr (talk) 06:28, 6 March 2014 (UTC)
I'm actually not that surprised, but she may have simply been copying the Alicia Keys vandal, who was dominant on the site in 2012 and earlier until Carlb banned her. Either way, I think she's gone now, but if she comes back and restores the Alicia Keys vandalism, then go ahead and block her. Meanwhile, I have a different problem - Firefox won't show new versions of pages, or anything in recent changes since after I made you admin. So I have to go into the page history of my talk page to see what messages you are leaving me. Simsilikesims (talk) 07:28, 6 March 2014 (UTC)
I have some instructions on my user page for seeing the new version of a page - pretty much just add ? to the end of the URL. I have no idea why that works, and it's been acting up for me since before you made me admin. Llwy-ar-lawr (talk) 15:59, 6 March 2014 (UTC)

More annoying questions[edit]

There are some pages I found that I think should be deleted but I'm not really sure whether to delete them. Could you take a look?

The templates were created by Alicia Keys or a sock on this site and templates primarily used for vandalism, and Talk:How do you lose weight is an orphaned talk page. Template:Holymessages was already blanked by PuppyOnTheRadio to prevent it from transcluding in a bunch of pages but I think I'll be through removing it and the other vandal templates from most things in not too long.

Unquotable:Tamia and Phyllis Hyman are clear vanity pages - I already told you about Phyllis Hyman and you deleted it but it's apparently popped up again, but this time in the form of what appears to be an actual article. Was deleted as having no content. Unquotable:Tamia has been around a while and I'm not quite sure what should become of it.

Also if you could take a look at what I am doing here and see if it's ok I wouldn't mind. Llwy-ar-lawr (talk) 21:36, 22 March 2014 (UTC)

Can I be admin?[edit]

I'll help with the improving. --Stranger195 (talkcontribsguestbook) 10:36, 10 March 2016 (UTC)

Start helping, then I'll consider it. If by helping you mean deleting most stuff here, keep in mind this is like the deletionpedia of uncyclopedia, and not all stuff should be deleted. It is an archive of stuff that was deleted, and is adminned on an inclusionist basis. Look up inclusionist on wikipedia for details. The main things I need help with here is making sure nobody posts cyberbullying on here or personally identifying information (dox) on anyone, and removal of garbage edits by bots. Importing pictures from the main sites on imported articles is useful, too. Keep in mind, changes made on here don't show up right away anymore. Adding a ? after the url in your browser may help some with this. Also, this site goes down rather frequently. Simsilikesims (talk) 10:42, 11 March 2016 (UTC)

You have been blocked from changing Uncyclopedia for 48 hours for editing other users' pages after the previous block ended.

Once the block has ended you can make helpful changes. Please read Uncyclopedia's blocking policy and remember that adding spam, making changes that do not have a neutral point of view, making personal attacks on others, not respecting other people's privacy, and vandalizing pages are not allowed. If you think this block is unfair, you can ask to be unblocked by adding {{Unblock}} below. If you cannot do this or the reason is private please send an e-mail to [email protected] and an administrator will look at your reason and reply. A new "separate humor wiki with its own identity" ?![edit]

According to 46,100th article!!1, CeilingCatFan wants to turn this into his/her own wiki. Wasn't the issue already settled with the Aliciapedia / Alicia Keys Meme ?! It seems this should now be brought to your ( and also Carlb's attention ) , before a major disaster takes place again. The obvious intent of this site is to archive the Uncyclomedia's Uncyclopedia. Brianna (talk) 22:49, 1 September 2017 (UTC)

This wiki has many articles which never existed on either the Wikia or forked Uncycs. CeilingCatFan (talk) 00:43, 2 September 2017 (UTC)
True, and at least one of them I should have found a way to feature on here. I wish I could find it again. Mainly, I have in mind for this wiki to be a sort of Deletionpedia of the other Uncycs. However, I also have in mind for it to be inclusionist: If there is no article on the topic and someone creates one that isn't QVFD worthy, I say keep it. Besides, I think that was a one-time celebratory blog article. Overall, improvements to articles should be as funny as possible. None of this keeps nonfeatured articles from being rewritten - simply rewrite in userspace, then copy and paste over the top of the old article, keeping the article history intact. name change request[edit]

Hi:

I'd like to change my username because my current one is too identifying. But I have forgotten my password. The email on my account probably says something like [email protected]. My current email is [email protected]. Can you help me out?

Thank you User:Rogpyvbc

I've now tried to change my password, nut when I put in my username, it says that no such user exists. But I am certain I exist. I think, therefore I am. I was sure to type it in perfectly, with proper upper/lower case, several times. 96.54.128.82 01:52, 9 December 2019 (UTC)

Blackout for Black Lives Matter[edit]

Hello, I am Ria Teras from the Black Lives Matter MediaWiki group. I tried contacting you on Uncyclopedia regarding an organized blackout to support Black Lives Matter and the protests against racial inequality, but your message wall is protected. When you get a moment, please read my forum post about this. I believe Uncyclopedia would be a great ally to this cause. Thank you very much for your time and I hope we can count on Uncyclopedia’s support this Tuesday. Ria Teras (talk) 12:14, 5 June 2020 (UTC)

Never mind, I have been banned. If you know of any other wikis who might be interested in supporting this cause, please let me know. I’m sorry for any trouble I caused at Uncyclopedia. Ria Teras (talk) 12:21, 5 June 2020 (UTC)

Are you kidding me? Let me get this straight: They permanently blocked you for supporting Black Lives Matter?
I'm also with the Black Lives Matter MediaWiki Group and this is the first time anyone from our group has been blocked by a wiki for their support. 38.132.120.72 13:32, 5 June 2020 (UTC)
I do think it’s weird to ban someone for supporting BLM without any warnings during a time like this, but it isn’t worth arguing with them over. They are allowed to choose what causes they support, and not participating in the MediaWiki movement doesn’t make them racist. To Simsilikesims: I’m sorry for the message wall spam. Ria Teras (talk) 16:52, 5 June 2020 (UTC)

As you said: Seriously, they blocked you for supporting BLM? I have a feeling that wasn't what they blocked you for. Also, there are 2 uncyclopedias. Simsilikesims (talk) 16:23, 29 June 2021 (UTC)

I did not have time earlier today to elaborate on this, but here is some background information that may help.
  • There are two major English Uncyclopedias: en.uncyclopedia.co and uncyclopedia.ca.
  • The last time they voluntarily blacked out their site was for SOPA, and there was still a way to bypass that. This is done so infrequently that it was last done more than 10 years ago. Probably nobody remembers how, and uncyclopedia.ca was totally not even working for awhile and their wiki coder was probably too burnt out to deal with it after upgrading to a new MediaWiki version and basically having the whole site crash.
  • Around 2012, before the big split, Wikia (now Fandom) forced a content warning on the site before the reader could enter the site: the community had no say in that. That was one of several reasons a number of Uncyclopedians left and formed their own site in 2013 (now en.uncyclopedia.co). A slightly smaller number of Uncyclopedians stayed on uncyclopedia.wikia.com.
  • Spike on uncyclopedia.ca (and probably the one who has the most influence there), has a thing against political satire, especially satire aimed at right wing views. Unfortunately, BLM tends to fall under left wing views.
  • Both sites require that everything on them be FUNNY to the extent possible, and there is really nothing at all funny about police officers deliberately killing people for no reason other than the color of their skin. Nor is it funny how people have historically segregated and devalued people of color, not to even mention some scary lynchings and very bizarre teachings about them (these bizarre teachings including descendants of the son Noah said would be a slave of his other sons, or the idea that they are Satanists because they look different, or how they will make the white population extinct). Strange, but not funny. Now "Bacterial Lives Matter"...that might actually be funny, because that idea ("Bacterial lives") is so ridiculous (gets out the anti-bacterial hand soap), kind of like "Insect Lives Matter"(squashes ants before they infest the flour in the pantry again, then gets out the ant spray to make sure they don't get into the sugar and rice again too). Or, "Arachnid Lives Matter" (kill the big spider with fire!) If you take the time to read HTBFANJS on both sites (the historical version is archived here), it will give you a rough idea of the kind of thing that we consider funny and how you might go about writing it without the end product looking stupid (as in EPIC FAILed joke, insert crickets here). Reading the Beginner's Guide, abbreviated BGBU helps too.
  • Fandom kicked the uncyclopedians at uncyclopedia.wikia.com out in 2020 because their content was not advertiser friendly, that is, definitely not politically correct, not to mention we lampooned several companies in a way they saw as negative. We never want to be forced by anyone into being politically correct. That is the reason both sites left Wikia/Fandom. If you think about it, how many stand-up comedians can you find who are politically correct during their performance? Rules based on what is good for big businesses to support, tend to restrict creativity, and eventually as they accumulate, stifle it. Politically correctness seems to kill both creativity and curiosity. You can call almost anything "negative" just because you don't like it, and that is a simple fact of life as a corporate drone. By the way, most corporations tend to be run just like fascist dictatorships with no freedom of speech, no criticism of the company (some even enforce this outside the office), and all the power at the top, along with almost all the money going to the top.
  • If you are using the same account for different people, or if you create a new account for yourself to get around it after you were banned (especially to argue back or revert edits), that is called "sockpuppeting" and is reason for a ban or block. By the way, unless the ban is shown as infinite length, you can still come back and edit AFTER the ban expires.
  • If you were blocked by the abuse filter, usually it means we thought you were a spambot. If this happened on en.uncyclopedia.co, please visit their Discord site and explain what happened to get unblocked. Also, while you are on the Uncyclopedia Discord, feel free to float your idea to see what people in the channel think of it and why they think it is a good or bad idea. Also known as discussion in real time with mostly strangers. Just don't get pushy, they hate that.
  • If you were blocked by the abuse filter on uncyclopedia.ca, shoot me a message on the help screen at uncyclopedia.org. I ended up with the domain, and tried to make it point to both sites. Unfortunately, since I know next to nothing about web design, I got stuck with a GoDaddy template, and something that started out as a subscribe button that I changed to a help/contact button.
  • If you posted from an open proxy/are using a VPN and did not register for an account, most of those IP addresses are perma-blocked until you register and sign in.
  • If you had one idea of how to do it, and the admins had another....sorry, but arguing with admins is generally never a good idea.
  • On either site, calling for a site blackout isn't something you just do until you basically know everyone who is a regular on the sites. In any case, this is always discussed on Discord or the forums first.
