Interstate 45 is a short (by Texas standards) Interstate highway. It forms one side of the "Texas Trapezoid", running from the Dallas-Fort Worth area to Houston. In Houston, it is known as the Gulf Freeway, as the southern end of the road dives straight into the Gulf of Mexico.
I-45 used to end in a place called Galveston. As punishment for the Texans' wicked ways, Poseidon sent the fury of the sea toward them. Because the ancient Texans built the road so close to the shore, it was swallowed up by the sea and is now kraken territory.
