Interstate 666 was created by mistake, when urban planners intended to create an outer beltway around Washington, DC. After the highway was constructed, it was numbered as an auxiliary loop route of nearby Interstate 66 (Washington being the only metro area in the country that could host an Interstate 666). In doing so, the capital area was inadvertently transformed into a portal to hell. Strangely, many people seemed not to notice the change.
Though there are several entrances to this highway, there are no exits. It is therefore advised that anyone travelling nearby exercise extreme caution when navigating through the DC area. (Congressmen, however, are always welcome!) The only way to exit this highway is via Interstate 366, which is only open on February 29th.
