Lower North Middleton Pie Riots
The Lower North Middleton Pie Riots were a series of riots in Lower North Middleton that occured from 1970 until 1973. Pies in the city had gained sentinence with the 1960 radiation spill and had since been demanding more and more civil rights.
When legislative demands to ban the consumption of city pies failed in 1970, the movement lead to violence, with pies having killed most of the city's residents by 1972. Early in 1973 Lower North Middleton's mayor, Courtney Love, eventually secured peace in the city by instituting a major moustache competition, which take place bi-annually every four years.
