~Ludwig von Drake

Ludwig von Drake (also known as Ludwig Von Drake) (October 18, 1881 - September 28, 1975) was an Austrian-German rocket scientist during WWII. He fled to Disneyland after the German defeat in 1945, where he was soon employed by his nephew, Admiral Donald Duck.

The Wehrmacht years[edit]

Ludwig von Drake was the first to apply for a membership in the NSDAP after the Anschluss of 1938. He later claimed he was forced to do this, despite several photographs showing him dance in the streets of Vienna after being accepted. Drake was employed by the Wehrmacht and the Luftwaffe, collaborating closely with Wernher von Braun. He provided the German military with jet fighters and missiles. When Soviet troops reached Berlin in 1945, Drake fled the country and settled down in Disneyland.

The Disneyland Atomic Weapons Program[edit]

Ludwig von Drake was employed by Disneyland military leader Admiral Donald Duck, who happens to be his nephew. Drake was first put in charge of crafting the dreaded 'W' ('Walt') weapons, W1 and W2. These were early long-distance missiles used by Disneyland against the Pirates of the Caribbean in the Five-Day War.

Ludwig von Drake was put in charge of the Disneyland atomic weapons program in 1953. Together with the Disney scientist Gyro Gearloose, he managed to produce at least five medium-size hydrogen bombs. He later used his former career as a rocket scientist to manufacture Disneyland's first nuclear missiles in 1960.

Ludwig von Drake was, and still is, a highly controversial figure. Whereas many Disney citizens regard him as national hero, some point out that he betrayed his country by selling nuclear secrets and weapons-grade uranium and plutonium to North Korea and Iran.

Ludwig von Drake disappeared on September 28, 1975, when a large fire following an explosion reduced his laboratory to cinders. His remains were never recovered, but he was officially declared dead three months after the incident. Gyro Gearloose was then put in charge of the Disney military science department.
