The first minerals arose from the primordial ooze in prehistory. Before being united under the Monarchy, the area was historically known as Mineralistan. Alexander the Great attempted to conquer Mineralistan, but failed after he got stoned.

Only one man seemed to understand the importance and beliefs of Mineral. Lord Walter Swoghollow more famous for that song in "Pirates of Penzance" Model of a modern general. As you can see from the lyrics:

"I am the very model of a modern Major-General, I've information vegetable, animal, and mineral, I know the kings of England, and I quote the fights historical From Marathon to Waterloo, in order categorical; I'm very well acquainted, too, with matters mathematical, I understand equations, both the simple and quadratical, About binomial theorem I'm teeming with a lot o' news, With many cheerful facts about the square of the hypotenuse."

After the Mineralisic people learned of this matter, a lynch mob was sent to Lord Walter Swoghollow's estate and encased him in Carbonite.

For centuries the minerals fought a series of wars with their neighbor rivals, the Vitamins. In 1822 a peace was reached between Mineral King Cobalt and Vitamin Leader B XII (negotiated with the aid of British diplomat Lord Carbon XIV). Since then, the Vitamins and Minerals have generally cooperated peacefully.
