The New York Islanders are a team in the National Hockey League synonymous with embarrassment and mismanagement. They are currently owned by Charles Wang, a man who once tried to sign a sumo wrestler as a goalie, but settled for signing current goalie Rick DiPietro to a 15-year deal. Their current general manager is Garth Snow, who got the job after Mike Milbury was promoted after being the worst general manager in the National Hockey League for 10 consecutive seasons. The Milbury period was a very confusing time for many of the players. Arguably the team's biggest star during this period, Zigmund Palffy, was so confused by the madness at one point that he kissed a teammate on the lips after scoring a goal.
