Chat room quotes are a great example of hacking. Yay for misinformation.

Good one.[edit]

This article is just priceless.

I think the script on the page is taking the whole thing too far. Truly, I think that posting something that can cause hundreds of dollars of damage is wrong.

However, if someone will teach me how to do this for more peacefully, I would be ever grateful. The preceding unsigned comment was added by (talk • contribs)

Script? What script?  nyp 08:47, 29 May 2008
The script at the bottom of the page. I know for a fact that is a loopback. If you run the script, you will wipe your own hard drive. I think. 16:51, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
It's simpler than that, since most of the commands used are fake this is in essence the same script:
ECHO.Erase harddrive?
Anyone who's dumb enough to run batch files they got off the internet deserves to have their HDD formatted. I get the impression that the person who started the chat about this script formatted their hard drive. I just can't wait for more people to write-in complaining about the loss of their hard drive. --Cribrad 14:26, 31 May 2009 (UTC)

Hackers do not crack into computers. the people who crack into computers are called Crackers.

The linux script should be modified[edit]

The linux script should be modified to say

sudo rm -rf /

Since this will also work on unix (BSD's), sh should be used instead of bash because on unix systems sh is guaranteed to be in /bin, bash might not be installed at all, unixes prefer csh or ksh

Deleteing System32[edit]

You can delete System32 by puting this in Notepad: @echo off delc:\\windows\system32

You save it as FILENAME.bat

P.S. System32 is where the OS gods sleep; kill them quickly!
