Help me, I'm a n00b![edit]

Well, I was wondering, how do you make those boxes, like the one on the side of your user page? CreamedCrap 20:12, 11 August 2009 (UTC)

You can use the userbox template like this: {{userbox|color1|color2|text1|text2}}.
For example, {{userbox|#FFFF00|#00FFFF|pants|sandwiches}} will turn out as below.
pants sandwiches
Feel free to get creative about such things. --Sir gwax (talk) Signuke.gif 00:40, 12 August 2009 (UTC)

Discordian award in some sense[edit]

Sacred Chao.png This user is a Discordian

-- at least in some sense.

It's not really an award, but I saw you want to make the Warehouse23 article. That makes you a Discordian in some sense. Congratulations! Also we need Principia Discordia! And I'm working on Discordian American Princess. You can help! Dame Pleb Com. <font="Times New Roman">Miley <font="Times New Roman">Spears (talk) 02:11, October 2, 2009 (UTC)

It's true, I am a Discordian, and quite proudly so. Though Warehouse 23 doesn't fall under traditional Discordian Canon. --Sir gwax (talk) Signuke.gif 04:03, October 3, 2009 (UTC)
Oh, well maybe you're an Unorthodox Discordian. Dame Pleb Com. <font="Times New Roman">Miley <font="Times New Roman">Spears (talk) 02:30, October 6, 2009 (UTC)
I just happen to be very serious and precise about things that shouldn't be taken seriously. That and anything that is created for the purpose of capitalizing off of Discordianism is not Discordian in nature. --Sir gwax (talk) Signuke.gif 04:13, October 20, 2009 (UTC)

n00b can't animate[edit]

any help with getting a gif to work, i'm wondering? i'm new to all this but the one thing i can't seem to fathom is getting a gif to animate in thumb form????

any help will be moochos obligos. ta!

--The Phantom Biro 13:35, March 11, 2010 (UTC)

If you have uploaded an animated gif, you should be able to insert it into a page at a different size using [[Image:yourimagefile.gif|sizepx]] and have it appear as an animated thumbnail. Does that answer your question? If not, could you provide more details about what you have, what you are trying to do, and how it is not working as expected? --Sir gwax (talk) Signuke.gif 21:48, March 12, 2010 (UTC)

Picture help[edit]

Can you help me make an image in one of those small boxes and be able to put a description into that box? thanks. --SystemOveRide 10:42, March 12, 2010 (UTC)

You should look through Category:User page templates; there are many great examples of how to make userboxes, which you can copy and modify to suit your needs. --Sir gwax (talk) Signuke.gif 21:52, March 12, 2010 (UTC)
Alternatively, let me give you the same advice that I gave to CreamedCrap above:
You can use the userbox template like this: {{userbox|color1|color2|text1|text2}}.
For example, {{userbox|#FFFF00|#00FFFF|pants|sandwiches}} will turn out as below.

Help me please :)[edit]

i am new to all of this and i tried to make a page and it was going alright until i wanted to upload a picture. i clicked on "upload image" found in the toolbox and i followed the instructions thereafter. BUT after i uploaded it i was taken to a separate page and i lost whatever i typed on the original page i was creating.... please help me NOT do stupid things again :) --Pug&pup 17:34, April 14, 2010 (UTC)

There's pretty much no way around that other than to not do that in the future. Alternatively, if you're using Firefox, you can get the Lazarus addon, which helps protect against losing text from boxes. --Sir gwax (talk) Signuke.gif 00:10, April 22, 2010 (UTC)

n00b help with caption and size[edit]

okay, I went to the FAQ, and it seemed to give pretty clear instructions on how to add the caption, and make the picture smaller. However every time I saved nothing would happen to my image, it wouldn't get smaller and the caption wouldn't show up. Could you take a look and see what I'm doing wrong? if you can then Thanks :) --JesusFraggingChrist 23:54, April 25, 2010 (UTC)

I can't take a look unless you give me a link to where you're trying to caption and thumbnail. --Sir gwax (talk) Signuke.gif 00:08, April 27, 2010 (UTC)

Please help me,trying to make a really good article![edit]

My mind is exploding with great ideas, but the technical part is beyond me. I need a walkthrough please on making my page/article presentable!
