Vorsprung Durch Technik, is the name of a popular German rock band. It is an anagram of the lead singer's name Hans Stefan von der Bratwursten, and means literally "ahead through technique". This is an allusion to the Germans' famously small male genitals and the familiar myth propagated by the elongationally challenged that technique matters more than size.

For the same reason, Vorsprung Durch Technik was adopted by the car maker Audi as the motto for their in-all-respects-imaginable challenged cars. This led to a lengthy copyright infringement law suit between the car maker and the rock band which was later settled out of court when it was established during the court proceedings that the "bits" of the company executives were even shorter that those of the band members.

Vorsprung Durch Technik has negative connotations in Brasil and Russia and several other countries. Therefore the slogan is gradually being replaced by "No Redeeming Value" which means essentially the same in a less offensive manner.
